Big Buoy Sportfishing Lodge features amenities not seen at any other lodge before. Once you arrive in Guatemala City Capt. Eric will arrange transportation to the lodge which is situated on a beautiful Island. On one side you have the river on the other lava sand beaches with the beautiful blue Pacific Ocean. The lodge features a 6 bedroom set up with AC, three full bathrooms, beautiful terrace to see the sunsets or just sit with a cocktail and relax after a long day of fishing. The grounds feature a large swimming pool with sitting area and water slide for the family, as well as a grass hut with Hammocks and kayaks to tour the cove. The ideal lodge to bring the family, while your fishing they can be relaxing at the lodge, walking the beaches, surfing or even visiting the local markets!

Captain RJ: Owner and operator Captain Robert Melton Jr (RJ) has been fishing the offshore and inshore waters of the East coast since he could walk. Always looking to improve his run and gun style of fishing you can be sure that nothing less than 100% effort is given on your trip. Captain RJ has been a part of multiple tournament placements throughout the years on the Jersey Nutz tournament boat (Nutz N Boltz) and is always looking for new challenges. Having fished from such destinations as Costa Rica, Mexico, Florida, California, Alaska, South Carolina, North Carolina, Virginia, Massachusetts, Lake Ontario, and Maine has allowed him to gather a plethora of knowledge on fishing styles and techniques, bring them all together and putting them to use for your benefit.
Cody Melton: Cody has been fishing the waters of NJ for over 16 years. At the age of 6 Cody caught his first yellowfin tuna and has been hooked on NJ canyon fishing ever since. After spending several years in the cockpit Cody is now part owner of the Jersey Nutz LLC and will soon be obtaining his captains license. Cody has been a part of several offshore tournament wins and has fished just about every offshore tournament in NJ including the MA500. At the age of 14 Cody landed his first Big Eye Tuna and at age 15 his first Blue Marlin. Dedicated to the task at hand, Cody will be doing what he can to allow you to have the best experience possible while targeting trophy fish with him.
